petroleum coke, abbreviated as GPC, is one of the most widely used additives in casting industries. This type of graphite is one of the synthetic graphites that is obtained from petroleum derivatives and has a black and gray appearance and is generally spongy. To be precise, this type of graphite is a product of oil processing, which is made from high-purity petroleum coke in a furnace at a very high temperature (2500-3500 degrees). Low sulfur graphite is one of the most useful and widely used additives in casting industries. This type of graphite is used to carbonize ferrous metals and is used to make ductile iron. Low sulfur graphite improves germination in molten iron and increases graphite sphericity and uniform distribution in the melt. Sulfur is also used in this product, and low sulfur should be used at most 0.05% in this composition.
